Committee Members Present: Lewis Atkins, Chair, Jane Ward Solomon, Sarah Liddle, and Jack Brandt
Other Members Present; Theresa Preda, DRS Ex-Officio; Doug Small, Jeff Pitman
Other Guest: Jim Rothrock, Commissioner of Department of Rehabilitative Services (DRS); Jessica Rouse Independent Living Specialist DRS, Lisa Grubb; Nicole Thorn, Interpreter

The Committee convened at 1:45 p.m.
Chair Atkins called the nominating committee to order.
Chair Atkins opened by explaining he generated a list of potential nominees through an email request submitted to SILC members requesting nominations for chair and vice chair by August 31.
Chair Atkins opened the floor for discussion.
Discussion ensued regarding what positions would be nominated and included on the slate
Jane Ward-Solomon made a motion for the committee slate to include nominations for chair and vice chair and the motion was seconded.
Discussion ensued regarding the nomination process
Jack Brandt made a friendly amendment to the motion stating that we will look at the Chair that the committee nominates first and then decide how to handle the Vice Chair.
After the discussion was complete Chair Lewis Atkins called this motion to a voice vote and received all “aye” by the committee
Jack Brandt made a motion to nominate Marcia DuBois as chair. Motion was seconded. Discussion followed.

Chair Lewis Atkins indicated the next order of business is to nominate a Vice Chair. After confirming his interest to serve if nominated Chair Atkins directed Doug Small to leave the room indicating, as he was a potential candidate for the Vice Chair position.
Jack nominated Doug Small as Vice Chair. Nomination was seconded.
Discussion ensued regarding eligibility and interest of nominees. After the discussion was complete, Chair Atkins called the motion to a voice vote and received all “aye” from the committee.
After restating, the committee’s slate of nominees to include Marcia DuBios for Chair and Dough Small for Vice Chair the meeting was adjourned at 2:30 p.m.
