Chair Shackelford called the meeting to order.

DuBois summarized her committee assignment regarding identifying gaps in IL services to minority and disability populations as well as geographic regions. Discussed comparing current CIL data to census data, with the understanding that TBI & veterans data could be less accurate.
There was discussion regarding VETS and IL services. Prokop noted information available at national level regarding VETs with disabilities that are not service connected are seeking IL services. Labar noted there is value in ensuring centers have knowledge of vets and VA services to provide appropriate I &R for this group.
Dubois indicated that this is important and could be an outcome of this committee’s work.
Committee members agree that first step in identifying gaps needs to start with current data. DuBois will pull this together and discuss comparison at January 2009 quarterly meeting.

• Discussion of timeline and assignment recommendation to full Council as a working document. Sub-groups assigned to each task on the timeline will be working with Staff Kriner to schedule meetings based on their assigned deadlines.

DuBois made motion made to approve July 2008 meeting minutes as amended to include corrections.
